Back to writing

I’ts been a while. A long long while.Too much going on. Life has been not easy.Yet, i have been made my way to different places, met different people, making new friends, tears, laughter, everything i could never imagine could happened to me again. yes, again. I, as Paulo Coelho said in his book, is one of those Warrior of The Light. I am. Will make myself write again, to let go what’s in the past that i have left behind, and live in the present, and look forward for tomorrow.
Brave new hope.

Ubud Trip

It was grey Saturday but was so ready to go on a road trip to Ubud, with few friends from work.Got my jeans,my turqoise long sleeve shirt,a shawl and another jacket. I can feel the rain is coming.Picking up the girls, we went to Soto Padang warung in front of Parkir Kuta galleria and have a hearthy soup for breakfast.hmmmm Great start! After that, we stroll through Bypass Sanur, and stopped at one silver art shop to look around..why they have to be so expensive? Anyway, they’re not really nice..too tacky for my liking. So, we move on and stopped by at Pasar Sukowati to get some art work, oleh oleh and i found a nice piece of artcloth from Sumba that i will use for my working table at work. Hmmm so much going on here, women selling articial pearl neclaces, sunglasses, hats. Rain started to pour and we decided to leave after buying few things. Head up to Ubud city, and stopped by in front of the best coffee shop tut mak and we went to silver shop. I decided to get myself a nice pair of "tear-drop" earrings…so classy! One pm and my stomach started to grumble..alright girls! time to eat something and feed the worm. I had mediteranean plate and ginger tea. hmmmmm.Bought few pieces of their famous brownie and legendary cinnamon rolls! oh soooo good i will take picture of them when i have them for breakfast :P

Rain hasnt stopped so we decided to leave Ubud earlier and head to town.I cant believe what i found..!  nice pair of arty farty shoes.I fell in love with them as soon as i spotted them. Anyway, we finished the trip by 6 evening and exhausted but had fun!

So carefully open the box , with a cup of tea and milk ( no sugar of course!), i slowly eat this goldly coloured shiny piece of tart and whoaaaaaaaaa…my taste buds went screaming YES!! this is it !! I just love this tart and i promised myself i will make myself one :) Some day .In the meantime, i will search for more hehehehehe

 Bon appetite!

Home visit

I am back in Bali, a happier girl.I have been home in Padang for a week, actually it was a surprise visit that no one at home or at work knows i am coming heheheee :) well only my future sister in law knows and my friend aii. I flew out in the morning 8 AM with a big smile on my face, and almost bursting my eyes with tears as soon as i see the beautiful view of my hometown from the plane.Oh, i am home. Such a weird feeling that i have been away only 3 months but now its like coming back to a new place.exciting, yet its a melancholic feeling.

Great to see my mom, brother, future sister in law ( insyaallah), and my friends ! Of course, my visit is also about visiting all my favourite eating places such as Simpang Kinol in China Town, Es Durian Pulau karam, breakfast at Namyang or Nanyo, fish-head curry at Bungus beach with mom and other little secret places i know ! :) Here’s some pictures from my visit. Ah, home sweet yummy home!

Recipe of the day

I was invited to dinner by my very nice neighbour who also becoming my yoga buddy mrs doreen. She is a singaporean who loves food and loves to cook good food as well. I learned this recipe from her and i will try it on the little oven . Its basically like a fish cake but instead frying it, we baked them in the oven for 10-15 minutes or steam em. Here is the ingredients:

Fillet of mahi mahi or tuna ( crushed them with knive) and make them into pate

Egg

Onion/spice mix

coconut milk ( cartoon one is ok if u cant make the fresh one)

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, mix well and give salt/pepper accordingly. Spread this on baking dish and bake for above time. Serve with rice and other asian dishes you like. We had broccoli stir fry and sweet/sour chicken.

fish bake..look like this almost :)

Coffee Desert Chocolate..thats my middle name

Holw long ago did i mentioned about how i love coffee especially when it comes with dessert, and chocolate. Anyway, last night me bubba and couple of good friends, went to Ultimo restaurant at oberoi street. This is apparently the best valuable italian restaurant.Ok, i had fettucine with tuna and anchovies for main and i had rocket salad with slices of lean beef, top with raw mushroom and pesto. Great start.Comes to dessert, i can’t hold my curiousity of the wonder panacotta cheese. This catch my attention from the dessert menu, and it comes on top of red lush rasperry. My first scoop, it was heavenly. The soury rasperry met with the sweet tender panacotta cheese that melts in your mouth…i was just in love with it. And that night, i dream about being cheese expert!

Time off

It’s been a while i have not been writing this blog. Just too much to do, life is hectic, this and that, here and there, come and go, in and out..all this excuses that i always say whenever i dont write or do my regular writing anymore. Not good huh? But anyway, its early April and start of new fiscal year which means for me a new challenge to work. And i am trying to make my life easier and happier by taking time off to have some fun and to enjoy nature and the company of my loved ones. Mom just visited me last week and we spend full 3 days together.First day she arrived, we had late lunch at this nice spot Bali bakery and i am happy to spend generously for mom..she enjoyed it and we went to centro and bought her a pair of "scholl" shoes which she deserved and ive been always want to buy one for her but buying shoes without the fitting will be a waste so this time we did and we both happy about it ! Next day, we went to Bedugul an area in the east of Bali that is much cooler because its on mountanery area and it has strawberry fields all over the area and we bought few box of nice ripe strawberries. Mmmm yum ! And from Bedugul ( there’s a lake bayan there), we went up to Sukawati where is the centre of arts of Bali , and Ubud and shes loving it,confused to buy stuff because so many of them so we decided just to limit on what is needed.simple ?

We had late lunch at tutmak..the thai coffee shop which served very nice nasi campur and i had tacos.Nice.We looked for some furnitures for my bookshelf and found some interesting ones but didnt end up buying. We had Megan, my old friend from Perth who used to live in padang, came visiting so there’s 3 of us the next day having wonderful dinner at Jimbaran fish bbq and i had lovely times having them around. Mom was happy that she knows that i am well and enjoying all bits and pieces of Bali in a very humble way *AHUM….and that now she feels better knowing that i am taking care of.

Will post some pictures soon.XXXX
